Looking at a handful of all-in-one social mockup generators that claim to support "posts, stories, reels & ads," the Story option is often the same post template stretched into a 9:16 canvas rather than a purpose-built layout — no segmented progress bar at the top, no story-style profile header with a colored ring, no timestamp treatment that matches what Stories actually look like.
Instagram story mockup generator built for 9:16, not stretched from a square template
This tool renders at the real Story aspect ratio from the start, with the profile header, timestamp, and reply bar positioned the way they actually appear.
Fake Instagram story maker with a real progress bar
You can set 1 to 5 progress segments to mimic a multi-slide story — a detail that's often missing entirely from generic mockup tools.
