Frequently asked questions

Is Sora 2's API still available?

No. Sora 2 / Sora 2 Pro API access was discontinued on September 24, 2026 (the web and mobile apps were closed earlier, in April 2026), so they have been removed from the selectable tiers. Their last listed rates were $0.10/s (Standard) and $0.70/s (Pro).

Why does the per-second price vary so much between tools?

Resolution and audio generation both change the price significantly — a 4K clip or one with native audio can cost 3-7x more per second than a lower-resolution, silent one on the same platform. This calculator uses one representative tier per model; check the provider's own pricing page for other resolution/audio combinations.

Why show the exact per-second rate in the result?

Several other AI video cost calculators we checked don't display the actual dollar rate or its source anywhere on the page, which makes the output hard to trust or double-check. Ours shows the rate and where it came from every time.

Which is cheapest?

At the tiers shown here, Veo 3.1 Lite ($0.08/s) is the cheapest listed, and Veo 3.1 Standard ($0.40/s) is the most expensive — but a 'cheap' silent 720p clip and a 'premium' 4K clip with audio aren't really comparable outputs, so price per second alone shouldn't be the only factor.
