Estimated cost Select a vaccine above

This is an estimate, not a guarantee of your actual bill or coverage — check with your insurer and pharmacy. Not medical advice. For fall 2026, the federal vaccine-recommendation process is in flux (ACIP's membership is tied up in court and no new 2026-27 recommendations had been issued as of early October), so the "covered at no cost" rule rests partly on insurers' own pledge (AHIP) — reports differ on whether it runs through the end of 2026 or 2027. Confirm with your plan.

Select which fall vaccines you're getting (flu, RSV, COVID-19) and whether you're insured to see an estimated cost. With a non-grandfathered insurance plan, ACIP-recommended vaccines are generally covered with no cost-sharing under ACA Section 2713 — without insurance, prices range widely, especially for RSV ($300-$550).

How it works

  1. Check off which fall vaccines you're getting
  2. Toggle whether you have insurance (a non-grandfathered plan)
  3. See your estimated total — $0 if insured (with the coverage conditions noted), or a real price range if not

Frequently asked questions

Is it really free if I have insurance?

In most cases, yes. Under ACA Section 2713, non-grandfathered health plans must cover ACIP-recommended vaccines with no cost-sharing. Exceptions can include grandfathered plans, some short-term plans, and out-of-network administration — check with your insurer if unsure. Fall 2026 caveat: the ACIP recommendation process is currently stalled (its membership is tied up in court) and, as reported in early September 2026, the CDC had not issued new 2026-27 COVID or RSV recommendations, so the legal basis for no-cost coverage is less certain than usual. Insurers' trade group AHIP has pledged to keep covering vaccines with no cost-sharing; sources differ on whether that runs through the end of 2026 or 2027, so confirm with your plan.

Why is the RSV vaccine so much more expensive than flu or COVID shots?

It's a newer vaccine with a higher per-dose list price from manufacturers (around $300-$375 before any insurance or discount), regardless of insurance status.

Will this match what I'm actually charged?

It's an estimate based on September 2026 US pharmacy pricing. Your actual cost depends on your specific pharmacy, location, and insurance plan.

What if I don't have insurance at all?

Look into your local public health department, a Federally Qualified Health Center (FQHC), or manufacturer/state access programs — some offer free or reduced-cost vaccines, particularly for children through the Vaccines for Children (VFC) program.
