EXIF Remover

Scan to open this page

Strip GPS coordinates, camera model, and every other EXIF tag from a photo — orientation is baked into the pixels first, so (unlike some strippers) your photo never ends up sideways.

How it works

  1. Upload a photo — see exactly which EXIF tags it contains (GPS, camera, timestamp) before removing anything
  2. Click "Remove metadata"
  3. Download the cleaned photo, correctly oriented

Frequently asked questions

Why do some EXIF removers leave photos sideways?

Some cameras don't rotate the actual pixels for a vertical shot — they store an orientation flag instead. A tool that strips all metadata without applying that rotation first leaves the photo sideways. This tool renders the photo through a canvas first (which applies the correct orientation), then re-encodes it, so the rotation is baked into the pixels before the tag disappears.

What exactly gets removed?

All EXIF data, including GPS coordinates, camera make/model/serial number, and timestamps. The preview shows you what's actually present in your file before you remove it.

Is my photo uploaded anywhere?

No — both reading and stripping the metadata happen entirely in your browser.
