Frequently asked questions
What sections does a business plan need?
This template covers the ones lenders and partners expect: executive summary, company description, problem and solution, market analysis, products and services, marketing and sales, operations, team, funding request and a financial summary. Sections you leave empty are omitted from the printed plan.
Should I write the executive summary first?
Usually last. It summarises everything else, so it is easier to write once the other sections are done, though it appears first in the finished document.
Does the tool create financial projections for me?
No. It calculates profit as revenue minus costs from the numbers you enter for three years. The estimates and their assumptions are yours to research and justify.
Is this a legal or financial document?
No. It is a writing aid and layout, not legal, tax or investment advice. Lenders and investors may require their own formats or more detailed financial statements.
Can I save my plan and come back later?
Nothing is stored. The plan exists only in your browser tab, so save the PDF or copy the text before you close the page.
Which currency does it use?
Whatever symbol you type in the currency box. The tool does not convert between currencies.
