Home Equity Loan Calculator
🇺🇸 US-specific: the 80% combined loan-to-value (CLTV) limit is a conventional US lending practice — other countries don't necessarily use this same threshold.
Enter a positive home value, mortgage balance, and loan details.
Maximum borrowable at combined LTV:
Free home equity loan calculator that checks your requested amount against a typical combined loan-to-value limit AND calculates the payment, in one page — we checked calculator.net's home equity loan calculator directly and it splits these into two separate tools (one for LTV limits, one for payment), with no combined view.
How it works
- Enter your home value, existing mortgage balance, and the loan-to-value cap your lender is likely using
- Enter the loan amount you actually want, plus rate and term
- See whether your request is within the typical borrowing limit, and your monthly payment either way
Frequently asked questions
Why does this check my loan amount against a limit?
Most US lenders cap total borrowing (your existing mortgage plus the new loan) at around 80% of your home's value. We checked calculator.net's home equity loan calculator directly and it makes you use a separate tool just to check this limit, then another for the payment — this tool does both together.
What if my requested amount is over the limit?
The tool tells you directly, in red, with the exact amount you're over by — instead of silently calculating a payment for a loan a lender likely wouldn't approve at that combined LTV.
