Before building Amortization Calculator, we checked two popular amortization calculators directly.

Loan amortization schedule csv: nowhere to be found

calculator.net generates a detailed monthly and annual amortization table, and mentions a "save this calculation" icon — but it's vague what that actually exports, and it's not a straightforward CSV of the schedule rows. amortization-calc.com is more explicit about not offering it directly: instead of a download button in the tool, it links out to a separate free Excel template page.

Extra payment amortization calculator, with the savings spelled out

Add an extra monthly payment amount and this tool shows exactly what it buys you: how many months sooner the loan is paid off, and how much total interest that saves — calculated against the same schedule engine, not a rough estimate.

Yearly amortization schedule, one click away from monthly

Toggle between a full monthly breakdown (every single payment) and a yearly summary (interest and principal totals per year) — useful when you want the big picture without scrolling through 360 rows.

Amortization schedule calculator, exportable in one click

"Download full schedule (CSV)" does exactly what it says — every row of your actual schedule, ready to open in a spreadsheet, no separate template page or ambiguous save icon involved.
