Drawing 1st, 2nd, and 3rd place with a random name picker? Watch out for repeat winners.

Before building List Randomizer, we checked two popular random name pickers directly (gigacalculator.com, randomlists.com).

Random name picker, drawn fresh each time

Both tools handle a single draw well — pick one or several names at once from a list, unbiased and instant. But if you're running a raffle with 1st, 2nd, and 3rd place prizes, you naturally draw multiple times in a row. Neither tool's documentation mentions a way to make sure a name that already won can't win again on the next draw.

Raffle winner picker no repeat, on by default

This tool's "Remove picked entries from the list" toggle is checked by default. Draw once, and whoever's picked is removed from the pool automatically — so drawing again for 2nd place pulls only from the names that haven't won yet. Turn it off if you actually want replacement (e.g., a daily random pick where anyone can win again tomorrow).

Pick random names from list, no ads in the way

General search results on this category note that some free pickers are "free because of ads," with a paid tier to remove them. This site keeps ads out of every tool's working area by design (a site-wide rule, not something specific to this cube) — so the picker itself stays uncluttered regardless.

Giveaway winner generator, fair by construction

Draws use a standard Fisher-Yates shuffle — the same unbiased algorithm behind "provably fair" giveaway tools — so every remaining entry has an equal shot each time you draw.
