Before building ROI Calculator, we checked calculator.net's ROI calculator directly.
Annualized roi calculator, not just the headline percentage
To its credit, calculator.net's version does compute annualized ROI alongside simple ROI, and explains why it matters: "annualized ROI... is a rate normally more meaningful for comparison." We agree, and built the same distinction in — both numbers show side by side here, not just the simple percentage.
Return on investment calculator, single-investment only
Where it's limited (by design, not by mistake): it only handles one investment and one final return — no support for multiple contributions or withdrawals over time. This tool works the same way, deliberately kept simple for the common "I put in X, I got back Y" question. For a series of cash flows over time, that's a genuinely different calculation — our IRR Calculator handles that case instead of trying to force it into this one.
Roi percentage calculator, with the gain broken out
Alongside both percentages, the dollar gain (or loss) is shown on its own — a quick sanity check before you trust either percentage.
