Retirement Calculator
Enter a retirement age greater than your current age, and non-negative savings, contribution, and rates.
The withdrawal rate estimate uses your projected balance at a fixed rate — it doesn't account for market volatility in retirement, inflation, or how long your savings need to last. Use it as a starting point, not a guarantee.
Free retirement calculator that projects your savings by retirement age and estimates your monthly retirement income using the withdrawal-rate rule — not just a raw future-value number.
How it works
- Enter your current age, retirement age, current savings, and monthly contribution
- Add your expected return and a withdrawal rate (4% is a commonly cited guideline)
- See your projected nest egg and estimated monthly retirement income
Frequently asked questions
What is the withdrawal rate?
It's the percentage of your savings you'd draw out each year in retirement. 4% is a widely-cited starting guideline (from historical market analysis), but it isn't guaranteed to last through every market condition — a lower rate is more conservative.
Does this account for inflation?
No — the projection uses today's dollars and a flat expected return. Real purchasing power in retirement will be affected by inflation between now and then, so treat the result as an estimate to refine, not a final number.
