Social Security Calculator
🇺🇸 US-specific: Social Security is a US federal program — this tool doesn't apply outside the US. This is a rough estimate, not an official figure — see the note below.
Enter a positive AIME and a claiming age between 62 and 70.
This uses the 2026 bend-point formula ($1,286 / $7,749) assuming your AIME estimate is accurate — it can't replicate the SSA's actual calculation, which uses your real 35-year wage-indexed earnings history. For an official estimate, use your my Social Security account at ssa.gov.
Free Social Security benefit estimator using the actual 2026 bend-point formula ($1,286 / $7,749), with early and delayed claiming age adjustments — clearly labeled as an estimate, since a full official calculation needs your real 35-year wage-indexed earnings history.
How it works
- Enter your estimated average indexed monthly earnings (AIME)
- Enter the age you plan to claim (62-70)
- See your Primary Insurance Amount at full retirement age, and the adjusted benefit for early or delayed claiming
Frequently asked questions
How accurate is this estimate?
It uses the real 2026 bend-point formula, but it's still an approximation — the actual SSA calculation requires your full 35-year history of wage-indexed earnings, which no calculator outside the SSA itself has access to. For an official figure, use your my Social Security account at ssa.gov.
Why does claiming age matter so much?
Claiming before your full retirement age (67) permanently reduces your benefit — roughly 6.7% per year for the first 3 years early, 5%/year beyond that. Delaying past 67 up to age 70 increases it by roughly 8% per year. This tool shows both directions.
