Before building Bond Calculator, we checked calculator.net's bond calculator directly.
Bond price from yield, well handled
Given face value, coupon rate, years to maturity, and a market yield, it correctly computes the price — standard, well-established bond math, and we verified our own implementation against a textbook example ($1,000 face, 5% coupon, 10 years, 6% yield → $926.40, matching exactly).
Yield to maturity calculator: the other, more common question
Here's what it can't do: if you're actually looking at a bond quoted at a specific price and want to know your real yield to maturity, there's no reverse calculation. That's arguably the more common real-world question — you rarely get to pick a market yield out of thin air, but you do see prices.
Bond calculator both directions, verified round-trip
This tool solves either way. Feed the $926.40 price back in on "Find yield" mode, and it returns exactly 6.000% — the same rate that produced that price in the first place.
Bond cash flow schedule, shown in full
Every coupon payment period is listed, along with the final payment that includes the returned face value — not just a single price number with no visibility into how it was built.
