Countdown timer apps keep adding ads — this one is just a link

Before building our countdown timer, we looked at how people actually talk about the countdown timer apps and sites they've used.

Countdown timer online free — until the ads show up

A recurring pattern in app reviews: a "ridiculously annoying amount of ads" that got worse over updates — banner ads at the bottom, then full-screen video ads triggered by any action, and eventually a subscription just to use the widget feature. A tool this simple (a date, and a clock) shouldn't accumulate that much friction over time.

A shareable countdown link, without an account

Most countdown tools that let you share a specific countdown do it by saving your event to their server, which means an account. Ours does it differently — your target date and event name are encoded directly in the page's URL. Copy the link, send it anywhere, and whoever opens it sees the exact same live countdown recomputed on their end. Nothing saved, nothing to log into.

New year countdown timer, or any date you pick

It defaults to a countdown to the next New Year's Eve, but works for literally any date and time you enter — a deadline, a trip, a launch, a birthday.
