Do I need an account?
No. Nothing is saved on a server — the countdown lives in your browser, and the shareable link encodes everything needed to recreate it.
Why does the shared link work without a login?
The target date and event name are stored directly in the URL's query string, not in a database. Anyone who opens the link gets the same countdown recomputed live on their end.
Does this show ads or require a subscription?
No. Some countdown apps have been criticized for adding banner ads, then full-screen video ads for any action, and eventually gating the countdown widget behind a subscription. This one doesn't do any of that.
