There are two ways to calculate GDP. This calculator only does one of them, on purpose

Economics textbooks teach two ways to calculate GDP. One of them — the expenditure approach — has a single, universally agreed formula. The other, the income approach, gets assembled slightly differently depending on which textbook or source you're reading.

GDP formula calculator, expenditure approach

GDP = C + I + G + (X − M): personal consumption, gross private investment, government spending, plus net exports (exports minus imports). Enter each figure in billions and the total updates as you type.

GDP growth rate calculator, built in

Enter a previous period's GDP alongside your current figures and the percentage change appears automatically — no separate calculation needed.

GDP per capita calculator, from population

Add a population figure (in millions) and GDP per capita in dollars appears too — useful for comparing economic output on a per-person basis rather than just the aggregate total.

Looking for real countries' actual GDP figures rather than a formula calculator? See the Country vs Country (GDP) comparison tool instead.
