Why isn't the promo rate always better?
A 0% or low-APR promo often only applies if you skip the cash rebate, financing the full price instead. On a large enough rebate, taking the rebate and paying the standard rate can cost less overall than financing the full price at a lower rate — it depends on the numbers, not just the headline rate.
Does this account for taxes or trade-ins?
No — it compares the two financing structures on the vehicle price you enter. Add or subtract taxes, fees, and trade-in value from the price yourself before comparing, since they apply equally to both options.
